Member organisations
The IRO has been constantly growing since its foundation and it now unites 122 national search and rescue dog organisations in 42 countries worldwide. The diversity of the various organisations ranges from small associations to professional expert organisations that are funded by the state.
IRO membership benefits:
- prefered allocation of starting slots for WCH and MRT
- possible sponsorship for SAR-dog related expenses (sponsor money)
- voting right at the IRO Meeting of Delegates for full members
- monthly NRO Info newsletter
- participation at international events, networking and expertise
- application for hosting IRO events such as testing events, MRTs or courses
Responsibilities of IRO member organisations:
- difference between full membership and associated membership (§ 5.1. of the IRO Consitution)
- yearly report on missions and testing results
- support of the IRO Department for PR, as far as possible
- notification of any changes (contact details, etc.)
- changing NRO membership is only possible in justified cases (does have an impact on sponsorship)
Search and Rescue Dog Organisations may apply for IRO membership.
