The highest decision-making body of the IRO is the Meeting of Delegates, which is organised as a general assembly. The committee operates on the basis of the IRO statutes and is comprised of the delegates from the respective national search and rescue dog organisations, the executive board and the executive committee.
Particular functions of the Meeting of Delegates include:
- Receiving the reports from the executive board and those commissioned for special tasks.
- Consulting and deciding on applications to amend the statutes
- Initial resolution and consulting on applications to amend the regulations
- Consulting and deciding on other applications
- Determination of the membership fees/contributions
- Discharges, dismissals and elections of members of the bodies
- Arranging of the time and place for the next extraordinary Meeting of Delegates.
The Meeting of Delegates convenes every two years. Each NRO with voting rights has one vote at the Meeting of Delegates. NROs can submit their applications for the Meeting of Delegates to the executive board or the executive committee.
