Missions and Offers of Assistance
12th March 2011: At the moment 6 Japanese rescue dog teams from the IRO are on mission.
13th March 2011: Meanwhile 6 rescue dog teams and 3 helpers from the IRO member organisation RDTA (Rescue Dog Trainer's Association) and 3 rescue dog teams from our member organisation AWDSA (Asia Working Dog Support Association) are working in the disaster area to search for victims.
13th March 2011: The IRO rescue dog teams from RDTA are searching for victims in cooperation with the prefectural police in the city of Natori (Prefecture of Miyagi).
15th March 2011: The rescue dog teams from RDTA have finished their searches today at around 8pm (local time).A landslide in Bello, Antioquia, Colombia buried roughly 120 people and 50 houses on the 5th December 2010. The IRO Member Organisation FGR Rescate K-SAR was on site and gave assistance.

RDTA Photo Exhibition in Tokyo, Japan
Our Japanese member organisation 'Rescue Dog Trainer's Association' (RDTA) organised a photo exhibition in the 'Gallery Seira', 3-10-19 Ginza 1F, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan, from the 26th until the 29th December 2010. The theme of the exhibition "RDTA Foto Gallery 2010" was "Dogs which Find Human Lives" - dogs from all over the world.

8th IRO International Judges Test and Meeting in Epeisses, CH
We congratulate Patric Corpataux (CH) on passing the judges test and we would like to welcome him to the IRO Judges Team. 
24 judges, the Spokesperson for training Mr. Martin Gut as well as 3 assesor judges attended the meeting.

RDTA Picture Exhibition in Tokyo, Japan
Our Japanese member organisation Rescue Dog Trainer's Association (RDTA) organizes a picture exhibition in the "Gallery Sailor", 3-10-19 Ginza, Naka-ku, Tokyo, Japam from 21. - 25.12.2009 daily 11am to 7pm (25.12. until 5pm). Next to interesting pictures (image of the rescue dog, testing events, co-operation with governmental institutions, presentation of the IRO, Mission in Sumatra) rescue-dog performances as well as films are planned.

28.10. - 01. November 2009
7th IRO Search Dog Mission Readiness Test in Zatec / Czech Republic
Twenty out of 36 rescue dog teams passed this year's MRT in Zatec. Under winterly conditions the teams had to make seven searches, practical tests in first aid and INSARAG Marking Box, a 10 km march at night and a rope excercise within 36 hours.  Read more here.
14. – 16. August 2009: International Rescue Dog State Championship, Wiener Neustadt (A)
108 dog teams from 10 nations participated at the international rescue dog National Championship in the area of Wiener Neustadt this weekend.
The big winners were the by “Royal Canin” sponsored dog teams of the rescue dog squadron of the Vienna fire-fighters. They were in first place in the team contest. And the second team of the fire-fighters archived the 4th place behind Croatia and the team of the ΦRV (Φsterreichischer Rassehundeverein).
National champions are:
Rudolf Klein (Fire-fighters Vienna) in tracking, Magdalena Koczera (Fire-fighters Vienna) in rubble search and Michael Sandholzer (ΦRV) in area search.

11. -26. May 2009 Training visit by Abu Dhabi Police in Austria and Hungary
10 dog handlers of the Abu Dhabi Police with 4 dogs visited a training, after suggestion and assistance by the IRO and their trainers, in Austria and Hungary from the 11th to the 16th of May 2009. The first week they trained at the Tritolwerk, the practice grounds of the Austrian Armed Forces, near Vienna. The second training week was held at the new training grounds of the IRO member organisation PMA near Budapest.

IRO Member Organisations in Japan, Korea, Thailand and Taiwan are watching the situation closely and are on standby.
